When a series based on the gloomiest member of the Addams Family was first announced, aka Wednesday, viewers were more than thrilled about this news and with utmost certainty knew that this series would be a success, and they were not wrong at all. Wednesday premiered in November 2022 and has maintained its position in the top 10 shows on Netflix in several countries across the globe. It has an entire fan base, which seems larger than that of the Addams Family as a whole, and that’s saying something. So, with the massive success of the first season of Wednesday, one question is looming on everyone’s mind: Will we get to see Wednesday again?

The answer is yes and that’s what we’re here to tell you all about. Netflix has officially renewed the series and we will all be blessed with Wednesday Season 2. This series has been one of the most anticipated in terms of release, and then renewal. While it’s still in the early stages, we will try and tell you as much as we can about Wednesday Season 2, from the speculated plot to the release date and much more:

What Is The Plot of Wednesday Season 2?

It’s too soon for an official synopsis of Wednesday Season 2, but hopefully, we can make some guesses and speculations regarding the upcoming season, especially after what Jenna Ortega had to say about Wednesday and how she wants the character to be darker. Here’s what Ortega said in an interview:

“I want her to get more in the nitty-gritty of things and not play things so safe because there are a lot of lines about her saving the school and doing whatever, but for me, her main drive with the monster is of competitiveness. Kind of, ‘man, how’s this guy doing this?’ I think I want it to continue down an antihero stream rather than a typical hero.”

We hope that the creators take Ortega’s opinion into consideration, because the darker a character is, the better the series will be. Other than Wednesday possibly being the anti-hero, we can expect Wednesday Season 2 to revolve around Wednesday’s possible stalker that was revealed towards the end of season 1. It will be interesting to see how Wednesday navigates through that. Also, what’s going to happen to Tyler? That’s something everyone is waiting to find out.

The showrunners have also revealed that Wednesday Season 2 will focus on Wednesday’s relationship with her family, especially her mother. Hopefully, they aren’t sidelined this season, because everyone wants to see more of them! We will learn more about the plot closer to the release date of Wednesday Season 2 which will be discussed later in the article.

The Cast of Wednesday Season 2

While there were several talented actors and actresses in Netflix’s Wednesday, there was one actress who stood out, and you know whom we’re talking about. It’s none other than Jenna Ortega who played the role of Wednesday Addams herself. Before this series, Ortega appeared in movies before, but her performance as Wednesday will always be remembered as her breakthrough performance. So, the question everyone wants the answer to is, will Jenna Ortega reprise her role as Wednesday Addams? The answer is yes! Frankly, we cannot imagine anyone other than Ortega as Wednesday, so we’re more than thrilled that she will be continuing on in Wednesday Season 2.

Of course, while Wednesday is the star of the show, there are other characters played by some very talented cast members who help drive the narrative and will play an important role in Wednesday Season 2 as well. While not all cast members have confirmed their return just yet, according to our speculation, some of them are bound to reprise their roles in the upcoming season. These include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Percy Hynes White, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Isaac Ordonez, Luis Guzmán, Hunter Doohan, and Christina Ricci.

It will be interesting to see if there are any new characters, possibly a new admission at Nevermore. Let us know in the comments if you have any guesses!

When and Where Can You Watch Wednesday Season 2?

If Netflix hadn’t acquired the rights to Wednesday Season 2, we do not doubt that Prime Video or Apple TV+ would have swooped in. Fans had especially been worried about their new favorite show after Netflix’s cancellation spree with other teen dramas Warrior Nun and Fate: A Winx Saga. Nevertheless, Netflix came through for its viewers this time, and it’s all because of the fans and the viewership across the world. So undoubtedly, Wednesday Season 2 will be available to watch on Netflix, and hopefully any future seasons as well.

As for the release date, that’s still a question mark at the moment. However, usually, when a new season is announced, the release date is within the year of the announcement, and since Wednesday Season 1 was released in November 2022, we can expect Wednesday Season 2 around November-December 2023, or at the latest January 2024, but hopefully we don’t have wait that long. And if you’re wondering how many episodes Wednesday Season 2 might have, we’re guessing it’ll be just as many as the first season, which was right. Albeit, we’re hoping Netflix is generous this time around, and maybe we’ll get ten episodes. One can hope!

Is There a Trailer for Wednesday Season 2?

Right now, it’s too soon for a trailer of Wednesday Season 2, and we probably won’t get one until a little later into the year. However, fans (and us) surely wouldn’t mind an extended cut of Wednesday’s dance because that has surely kept us entertained since the release of the show. Nevertheless, we will keep you updated as soon as there’s a teaser or full trailer because we’re just as impatient as you are. So make sure you keep checking our website for any updates regarding Wednesday Season 2 (and other favorite shows of yours!)

Conclusion

It took very little time for Wednesday to become a phenomenon on Netflix and several social media platforms. Wednesday’s dance went viral and she gave an opportunity to other outcasts to be themselves without having to apologize for it, and we love that! Wednesday Season 2 will have a lot to live up to, but we’re almost certain that the cast and creators will manage to pull it off. Have you watched Wednesday Season 1 yet?
